What is holding you back? What is preventing you from throttling ahead in the fullness of today?

When I was 5 years old at Pearsontown Elementary in Durham, NC, I came down with a pretty serious kidney disease. It required me to be in the hospital and still for nearly 2 weeks and I was not allowed to return to school for many weeks after that.

For a 5-year-old, who loved riding the bus to school with my friends, it was a really sad time.

Me. Prince, our bus driver, school secretary, and one of the most huggable humans that has walked this earth, saw my sadness and invited me to ride with her each afternoon as she turned the bus around on our street.

Not only did I learn firsthand what it feels like to be seen and loved with action, but I also learned an invaluable life reality.

Governors.

The governor on her school bus's engine kept it from going as fast as I childishly wanted. It kept us safe.

We all need governors. However, we all often time self-inflict more governors than we need.

Inerrant governors hold us back from our ability to throttle into the fullness of life.
